Small Business Trends is Finalist for Codie Award

Small Business Trends is a Finalist in the 2007 Codie Awards. I am humbled — and quaking in my boots. Finalists in the Codie Awards were selected from more than 1,200 nominations, with nominations reviewed by 219 screening judges.

So why am I quaking in my boots? Because I saw the competition we are up against for the final awards: Herb Greenberg, the Dow Jones journalist and CNBC commentator, is there with his Market Watch blog. The Codies go well beyond blogs, with many categories of software and information products and websites. Check out the full list of Codie 2007 finalists for some interesting reading.

Feedburner tracks over 1.6 million podcast subscribers today and that figure has doubled over the past 6 months.

Podcast Alley, a top podcast directory, lists over 26,000 podcasts comprising over 1 million episodes, compared to fewer than 1,000 in 2004. A November 2006 PEW Internet Project report says that 12% of internet users have downloaded a podcast compared to 7% a year earlier. With 147 million Internet users in the United States…
