In Mexico, 24 year old LPGA tour rookie Meaghan Fran- cella beat Annika Sorenstam on the fourth playoff hole. It was Meaghan first victory in only 6 LPGA starts. That’s pretty impressive given that many LPGA players, notably Natalie Gulbis and Morgan Pressel, are still looking for their first victory.

It wasn’t pretty, but it’s still a win. Mark Calcavecchia bogeyed two of the last 3 holes, but clung on to a one- stroke lead over Heath Slocum, who missed a 3 foot 10 inch putt on the last hole, playing with Calcavecchia. It was an excruciating loss for Slocum, who last week had to console his high school teammate.
